FRINGING PLEASE

Sometimes I think one statement piece is all you need for the perfect outfit. In most cases it makes for easy wearing, throwing on jeans and a simple tee has never looked so chic. I couldn't be happier to have picked up this beauty of a jacket In H&M yesterday, especially with the current student discount being up at 20% off, meaning an absolute bargain price. I'm loving the faux suede feel to this jacket, and of course fringing and tassels are set to be huge over the coming season. The jacket does come up rather small, so if you're looking for more of an oversized fit like myself, I'd advise going up a couple of sizes on what you would normally have!

POP OF PASTEL PINK

It's a refreshing feeling to be finally wearing a different colour to the usual black/grey/camel/khaki I must admit! As much as I love winter colour palette's, the pop of pastel is a welcome treat to try and brighten up the still miserable weather.
I love the slightly oversized feel to these trousers, and the cropped peg leg is well on the right trend lines for this season. Paired with a simple black t shirt and leather biker jacket, with the sleeves rolled up for an added edge. I've also popped on my bargain Dorothy Perkins mules! Mules were huge last season and are set to be even bigger for the coming spring/summer, be prepared to see many more of these beauts! I'm keeping my eye out for a block heel grey pair from Boohoo (spotted the beauts at their press day back in November) and a monochrome cross over pair from zara! I look forward to the warmer temperatures so as to avoid that frostbitten toe feel I'm currently experiencing.

THE SLEEVELESS COAT

There's nothing I love more than the start of a new season. The excitement of FINALLY starting to be able to wear some of the trends seen way back in September 2014, and looking (quite obsessively in my case) online at the new in sections to see the SS15 pieces filtering in is a personal favourite! The sleeveless coat is popping up here, there and everywhere at the moment, making it the perfect transitional cover-up. This beauty is a River Island find, the quality is amazing and will take you all the way through the coming season because of the neutral tone! I may be sporting this with some pastel colours come March, but for now I'll stick to the obligatory black!

POP OF COBALT

I can't believe the weekend is nearly over again already! I swear the entire population would be a lot happier if we did the whole working thing in reverse, five days off and two days on sounds much better to me haha. The weather has been a little bit all over the place the past few days, especially with the threat of snow, so I'm lucky to have managed to squeeze in these pics just before the sun went down!

Today's look is comprised of a few of my favourite current pieces, especially these stripey shorts. I've worn these shorts a couple of ways, including with a lace bralet for a night out, but I think this dressed down version has to be my favourite. The print of these shorts is amazing to add a pop of cobalt colour to a black outfit, and you can also find this print on a pair of amazing flared trousers and matching oversized shirt in Topshop at the moment, safe to say I need them all. I've paired them here with this asymmetric side split ribbed jumper, which was an absolute bargain in the Asos sale and goes with everything, its already fast becoming a most worn piece!

SO MANY SHADES OF GREY

I am well and truly in love with grey, it's the perfect transitional colour between the blacks of winter and the whites of summer, at least for me anyway! And with the 50 shades of grey film imminent (if you've read the books like me, I can hardly wait!) I thought it was the perfect time to create a shades of grey style of outfit. Admittedly I'm not in a completely grey look, I just couldn't let go of the obligatory black, but I think it works nicely.

This skirt is an absolute beauty of a find, as there is one very very similar to that of this one from Topshop, at over double the price! I love the pocket detailing and the zip front, as it adds a few extra dimensions that a basic skirt wouldn't. I've paired it here with this grey fedora, which makes a nice change to the usual black also! The greys of the skirt and hat together make for a perfect match. These boots were a lovely Christmas gift courtesy of the beauties at Public Desire, and they literally haven't left my feet since. Pointed toes are definitely the one right now, and these smaller heeled beauties are so comfy for everyday!
